Happy Holidays! In this tutorial, I will show you how to make a variation of the Ninja Star Cube originally designed by Lewis Simon.
This is a modular origami model made up from 12 units. You can choose to make it large or small, but I kind of like the smaller one better as it is easier to make into a cool ornament for the holidays.
You’ll need 12 square sheets of paper. I will be using 3 different color printer sheets (8.5″ x 11″) which I will show you how to split into 4 sheets, but you can also use origami paper. If you are using origami paper, start with the color side UP.
Connecting the pieces is almost like a puzzle in that each unit has 2 pockets and 2 tips which fit into the other piece’s flaps/pockets. I’ll show you in detail how to connect them, however, it is sometimes fun to just try and figure it out on your own—especially after just watching my beginning stop motion video (that took me 3 hours to make! with almost 300 photos).
Hope you are enjoying the holiday season! Don’t forget to comment, rate, subscribe (+Notification Squad Bell), and Share!
