How to Model a Realistic Fondant Face (Female Topper) Timelapse Tutorial
е:
In experimenting with varying techniques of modeling a fondant face for cake toppers I came upon a process that made it easier to achieve the results I was looking for. This particular face topper time lapse tutorial demonstrates how to model a female face with prominent cheek bones and full lips.
You will find in this order:
1. How to work the fondant for proper fondant face modeling
2. What types of tools to use for modeling a smaller fondant head (I often used my fingers to create the middle indent 0:25 mark but did not like the results I would get).
3. How to mark the eyes, mouth and nose for good proportions (see notes that appear in video for how I learned this technique).
4. Create the lips and chin line in four moves with the same tool.
5. The same process as #4 is used in creating the nose.
6. Further shape the lips, nose and brow line.
7. How to mark the eye openings in good facial proportions using angles and references from within the fondant face itself.
8. How to model the cheekbones in good facial proportions (2:57 mark).
9. Begin preparing the eyes. (3:11 mark).
After watching my fondant woman face tutorial timelapse you should have sufficient pointers to help you achieve good results in modeling a female fondant face. The elements in this tutorial may also be used to model a male face — of which I will also be posting a video soon as of this date (July 19, 2017).
