You can create cells easily, without silicone, using this method!
Last time i tried this, it was on a square canvas and lets just say… it was very frustrating having to tilt the excess paint off!
This time im trying a round canvas, which makes tilting much easier and keeps the form of the Iris and Cells.
Waiting in between coloured layers of paint will give different effects to the cells and designs coming out of the open cup. Play around and discover!

RECIPE:
Check the paint consistency in the video when it is pouring out of the cup onto the canvas.
Every brand, paint and medium will be different so watch the consistency — not just the recipe.
You can do this with any brand acrylic paint — effects may alter, but its possible.
The recipe is approximate. Personally I measure by eye — not by weight or ml.
The coloured paints are mixed as:
Semco Basic Neon Acrylic paint — 60%
DecoArt Satin enamel pure white — 40%
I then added approx equal parts in Floetrol and a squirt of liquitex pouring medium.
The only colours that did not have DecoArt Satin enamel is the Black and Deep Purple (background colour) this was mixed:
Acrylic Paint — 30%
Floetrol — 70%
Some water added to the black to reach consistency. You want this paint to be a little thinner than the others — to spread and aid cell formation. Not too thin though!
No water added to the NEON’S — they were a soft body tube paint (quite runny to start with)

If you are looking for the DecoArt Extreme Sheen paints/satin enamels, Basics or other USA brands, you can find them here — — i have not personally been able to find many USA brands in local shops, only via online orders. Hope the link helps some people, they do post internationally too and have competitive prices.
